Lessons on Giving Your Life Away

I have lived a blessed life because of all the people with whom I have worked. This Christmas, I am reflecting upon the gift of people in my life.

I have written about people who I consider simply amazing like my South African friend, Mandy Rapson, an Honduran medical doctor/pastor, Jorge Ponce, and my incredible students.  These people give their lives away regularly and inspire me with their creativity, selflessness, and graciousness.

Today, I am thinking about Gil and Lya Santhon. They have changed me and they continue to inspire me.

Let me tell you about them. We can all learn a lesson from them about giving our lives away.

People Do Amazing Things: My Students

I have been fortunate to spend my life working with people. In the last two weeks I have highlighted two of those people.

You can read about Mandy Rapson, a young women dedicating her life to at-risk youth in South Africa, or Dr. Jorge Ponce, a pastor and physician helping those in need in Honduras through serving as a pastor, physician, and entrepreneur. They will inspire you.

Today, I want to tell you about just a few of the amazing young men and women I have the privilege to work with in one corner of my life. More and more, I am convinced they are the missing pieces of the puzzle of our future.

I have been fortunate to meet people who do amazing things with their life. They inspire me and challenge me. The encourage and they teach me about life. I want to share them with you.

Last week, I introduced you to Mandy Rapson from South Africa and today I introduce you to Dr. Jorge Ponce from Honduras.

Dr. Ponce, who lives outside of Tegulcigalpa, Honduras, is a former olympic athlete, a father, a pastor, and a doctor. He has dedicated his life to loving and serving other people.

Let’s meet him.
